Isle of Klezbos: “J. EDGAR KLEZMER”

Date Venue City
February 12
- February 15
Centenary Stage Company Isle of Klezbos: “J. EDGAR KLEZMER” in Hackettstown NJ
Musical documentary theater! “J. EDGAR KLEZMER: Songs from My Grandmother’s FBI Files” tells the true story of activist Dr. Adele Sicular (grandma to Isle of Klezbos drummer/bandleader Eve), based on declassified documents, family lore, and early Cold War politics. Following highly successful staged readings with full music score, this 4-night run is our first performance since Dixon Place (2008), Puffin Forum & JCC Manhattan (2009). For overview of the piece: We have now been asked to bring J. EDGAR KLEZMER to the Centenary Stage Company for a 4-day run in February 2015. There is indeed mention of Annette in the script, which led to yet more interesting conversations with people who loved her as well. Here are some links to give you a sense of the show: FEATURING: Melissa Fogarty, vocals Eve Sicular, drums | family revelations Debra Kreisberg, clarinet & sax Pam Fleming, trumpet & flugelhorn Shoko Nagai, accordion & piano And VERY special guest: Yelena Shmulenson!
